HexDB Enterprise
Terms of Service
Last updated October 20, 2026
These terms cover HexDB Enterprise, the hosted HexDB service at hexdb.app. Please read them before you subscribe.
1. Who we are
HexDB Enterprise is provided by Martinforged, LLC (doing business as Dream In Hex), 708 Rembrandt Avenue, Ponte Vedra, Florida 32081 ("we", "us"). These terms are an agreement between us and you, the person or organization that creates an account ("you"). If you accept them for an organization, you confirm you're allowed to bind it.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and give us an email address you control.
- Keep your password and API keys secret. You're responsible for what happens under your account and in your lattice.
- Tell us at support@hexdb.app right away if you think someone else has used your account.
3. The service
We run a HexDB lattice for you in dedicated containers with a cloud hosting provider: the hexes, their disks, daily snapshots and upgrades to new HexDB versions. You get full administrator access to it, so you decide who can use it and how it's configured.
The HexDB software is open source under the Apache License 2.0. These terms cover the hosted service; the software's license covers the software.
4. Subscriptions and payment
- Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance through Stripe, at the prices shown when you subscribe, plus any tax that applies.
- Changing the number or size of your hexes takes effect right away, and the price is prorated for the rest of the month.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. The new price applies from your next billing date after that.
- You can cancel at any time. Your lattice keeps running until the end of the month you've paid for. We don't refund partial months, except where the law requires it.
5. Late payment
If a payment fails, Stripe retries it and we email you. Then:
- For the first 10 days, your lattice keeps running.
- After 10 days unpaid, we stop your hexes. Your data is kept, and the lattice starts again once the bill is paid.
- After 30 days unpaid, we delete the lattice and all of its data. This can't be undone.
We send at least three emails before deleting anything, about 10 days apart.
6. Your data
You keep all rights to the data you put in your lattice. You give us permission to store, copy and process it only as needed to run the service for you. We don't look at it, sell it or use it to train AI models.
We may access your lattice only to keep it running, to fix a problem you've asked us to look at, or when the law requires it. You're responsible for having the right to store the data you put in it, and for keeping your own copies of anything you can't afford to lose.
7. Acceptable use
Don't use the service to:
- break the law, or store or share content you don't have the right to;
- distribute malware, send spam, or attack or probe other systems;
- mine cryptocurrency or run workloads unrelated to the database;
- resell the service, or use far more bandwidth than a database normally needs, without our written agreement;
- try to reach other customers' lattices or our infrastructure beyond your own lattice.
We may suspend a lattice that's causing harm, and we'll tell you why as soon as we can.
8. Cancellation and deletion
When your subscription ends, we delete your lattice and its data within 30 days, including snapshots. Export anything you want to keep before then. We may end the service for you if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms; unless the breach is serious, we'll give you notice and time to export your data.
9. Availability
We work to keep your lattice available, but we don't promise uninterrupted service unless we've agreed a service level with you in writing. Upgrades and maintenance happen one hex at a time where possible, so a lattice of three or more hexes stays up through them. The service depends on our hosting provider, and their outages can affect it.
10. Warranties and liability
The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
To the extent the law allows, neither of us is liable to the other for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits or data, and our total liability under these terms is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.
You agree to cover our reasonable costs from claims caused by data you store or by your breach of these terms.
11. Changes to these terms
We'll email you at least 30 days before a change that affects you materially. If you keep using the service after it takes effect, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, cancel before then.
12. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, and disputes go to the state or federal courts in St. Johns County, Florida, unless the law where you live gives you the right to use your local courts. Questions about these terms: support@hexdb.app.
